Here we are into September already, I can't believe it!
August saw us increase the portfolio equity by around 10% with the aim going forward to make more regular monthly additions at lower amounts (around 1-2%). Headline profit for the month of August was 4.2% delivering the expected recovery from poor market performance in July discussed in my last update.
I have also carried out some balancing of the portfolio during the month, taking profits on Cardano ADA at 69.9%, Bio-Rad Labs BIO at 51.8%, Cisco CSCO at 37% and E-on EOAN at 25.2% on the respective trades.
The added equity for the most part was used to strengthen positions on existing stocks in the portfolio with the addition of a few newcomers; McDonald's MCD, Square Inc. SQ and Cineworld CINE.L.
These are still strange and unprecedented times with markets generally inflated, however there appears to be strong support in the long term and as always opportunity.
Having strengthened our UK market positions we are well prepared to weather any storms and indeed profit from the expected UK market growth in the coming years as economic recovery continues.
Further balancing of the portfolio will be carried out through September, where I will be attempting to consolidate the portfolio, removing some of the weaker performers to bolster strong positions with a more positive outlook while remaining as diversified as possible and maintaining low risk.
Through the next few months I'll also be doing some work to ensure that all trades are open with enough equity to be copied by my eToro followers.
